Moto Guts Out

 Pre dis-assembly in 2007
Still a looker despite the oil and rust

It's been a basket case for nearly four years now, in the last few weeks have finally made a start.

Camshaft, crankshaft, and main bearings
The throbbing heart of the Beast

After recent breakthrough removal of second spark plugs, releasing access to the recessed cylinder head nuts, heads barrels and pistons came off.  Looked pretty coked up in there, definitely too rich.  Made most of today's weather and removed followers and camshaft.  Followers a bit pitted, cam looks worn but not on lifting surface.  Crankshaft also came out.  Used float in crank to knock bearing housing out, this is a tight fit (last rebuild back in '84 I put it in the freezer to get it back in).  Crank and bearings look good.  See what Ian B thinks.   Engine case now ready for the vapours.  Next job, dismantle gearbox and maybe drive shaft housing
