July 25
We've had a busy summer what with the new flat down South etc etc.
And to be honest I've not had the courage to start another endless round of trouble shooting, given how crap my aim is!
But today the sun was shining and finally got round to thinking about working with the T3
Last thing I remember from last year was wondering why the sparks are so weak.
Thinking about resurecting the original points ignition.
Have the relevant bits still, but will need 12V coils, points and condensers
Gutsibits can supply about £150 all in.
Bumped into Steve of number 14 and had a chat, he was trying to figure out how the coils could work in series. As a result revisited the RITA diagram. The unit case should be earthed! So I checked and surprise surprise with it being rubber mounted, it's not! How did I miss that?
So this morning fitted in a wire to earth from the casing. Will have to see how it responds to this latest tweak when I have enough moxy to start it up.
Then may think about the joy of points
